The Saturation of Extreme Craft Beverages: Are We Overdoing It?
In recent years, the craft beverage scene has exploded with an overwhelming variety of options. As a passionate coffee and beer enthusiast, I find myself wondering if we might be reaching a saturation point with some of the recent trends.
Take, for example, the escalation of creatively complex brews that seem to be flooding the market. It seems like every other day, there’s a new launch boasting bourbon barrel-aged cocoa nibs, coffee-infused imperial stouts, or nitro lactose-infused beverages that verge on the absurd. While innovation is a driving force in the craft industry, I can’t help but feel a twinge of fatigue when faced with these extravagant concoctions.
Is it just me, or does it feel like genuine craftsmanship is sometimes overshadowed by the pursuit of novelty? As much as I appreciate the enthusiasm behind pushing boundaries, there’s something to be said for simplicity and the traditional flavors that first drew many of us to coffee and beer.
As we continue to explore the exciting world of craft beverages, let’s not forget the charm and satisfaction that can be found in more straightforward, well-executed flavors. What are your thoughts?
