A Culinary Journey at Bern’s Steak House: A Wine Lover’s Dream
If you ever find yourself in Tampa, a visit to Bern’s Steak House is an absolute must, particularly for wine aficionados. Renowned for boasting one of the most extensive wine lists in the world, this establishment is truly a sanctuary for wine enthusiasts.
During my recent visit, I decided to indulge in a vintage experience by selecting a 1981 Ridge Zinfandel. Initially, the wine presented a subtle character, but as it breathed, it revealed an intricate tapestry of flavors that included rich notes of raisin and tobacco. Remarkably, after just ten minutes, the wine transformed; bold tannins and a warm alcohol presence emerged, leading to a delightful peppery finish that continued to evolve over the course of the hour.
This exquisite wine was perfectly complemented by my choice of the Delmonico steak, creating a harmony of flavors that elevated the entire dining experience. However, the evening didn’t end there. We ventured into the dessert room, where we delighted in a sweet yet dry Madeira, perfectly paired with a delectable affogato.
This gastronomic journey was undeniably one of the finest wine experiences I have ever encountered. If you’re seeking a remarkable dining adventure and have the means to explore Tampa, I wholeheartedly recommend making Bern’s Steak House a priority on your itinerary. It promises to be an unforgettable experience for any wine lover.
