Exciting Find: Revitalizing a Sub Zero Fridge
I am thrilled to share my recent venture into appliance restoration! While browsing Craigslist, I stumbled upon a Sub Zero refrigerator listed with a “not cooling” issue. Despite the potential pitfalls, I decided to take a chance on it, hoping for a rewarding project.
Once I brought it home, I discovered that the condenser fan was attempting to operate, yet it was barely moving. Realizing this was likely the culprit behind the cooling problem, I replaced the motor for a mere $31. With the new motor installed, I powered it on, only to find it had no refrigerant left in the system.
I quickly took action, pulling a vacuum to ensure there were no leaks, and the system held up perfectly. With that reassurance, I proceeded to recharge it with refrigerant, and to my delight, it began to function flawlessly!
Now, I’ve started reorganizing the contents of my other coolers to alleviate some overcrowding, and I find myself excited at the prospect of filling my revived Sub Zero with even more beverages. I consider myself incredibly fortunate and couldn’t be happier with the outcome. This experience has not only proven to be a great investment but has also reignited my passion for hands-on projects. Stay tuned for more adventures!
