Discovering the Hidden Gem: Valmiermuižas Beer
If you’re a craft beer enthusiast, then let me introduce you to something truly special: Valmiermuižas. This exceptional Latvian beer has captured my heart (and palate) over the years, but there’s a twist—it’s nearly impossible to find outside of Latvia.
My journey with Valmiermuižas began during my time in Riga, where I embraced this delightful brew for three years. To say that I became a regular would be an understatement; I thoroughly enjoyed it and became quite attached to its rich flavors. However, despite my extensive travels through Europe, including Italy and Germany, sourcing this beer has proven to be quite the challenge. I’ve reached out multiple times, hoping to have some shipped my way, but the costs were astronomical—hundreds of dollars for just a case! For now, I’ll have to put a pin in my dreams of enjoying Valmiermuižas at leisure, much to my dismay.
This post serves a two-fold purpose: first, to highlight the brilliance of Valmiermuižas Beer for all the craft beer lovers out there, and second, to encourage anyone visiting Latvia (or even Estonia) to seek it out. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
As I prepare for a return to the United States in a few months, I find myself doubtful about ever being able to find this delicious beer in my home country. If I couldn’t figure out how to get it in Germany, I can’t imagine it’ll be any easier on this side of the Atlantic.
So, if you’re planning a trip to Latvia, make it a priority to sample Valmiermuižas. It might just become your new best friend, too! Cheers!
