An Update on My Health Journey: Back to Beer!
Two months ago, I shared a challenging health journey with you all, and I wanted to follow up on my progress. After enduring a series of blood tests, X-rays, and ultrasounds, I discovered the cause of my discomfort: gallstones. Fortunately, I underwent gallbladder removal surgery a couple of weeks ago, and I am pleased to report that I am almost back to my usual self.
While I still need to avoid heavy lifting—like the kegs at work—this has been a manageable adjustment. The gallstones had been causing significant inflammation, which led to elevated bilirubin levels in my liver along with other liver enzymes. Now that the source of the problem has been addressed, I’m feeling much better.
Last night marked a significant milestone for me: I enjoyed my first beer in quite some time! I opted for a Modern Times Black House, a delightful coffee stout. It had a strong coffee flavor that leaned a bit on the bitter side, but overall, it was a fantastic experience to savor a good brew again.
To celebrate my return to enjoying beer, I picked up a few more selections. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported me during this time—it truly made a difference.
Cheers to good health and great beers ahead!
