Embracing a Mindful Beer Journey: My New Year’s Resolution
As the new year unfolds, it presents a perfect opportunity for self-reflection and growth. One such journey I’ve embarked on involves transforming my approach to enjoying craft beer. My resolution? To be a more thoughtful and considerate beer enthusiast.
Here’s what this transformation looks like for me:
Focusing on Quality Over Quantity
Gone are the days of obsessing over the latest limited releases. Instead of chasing after elusive “whale” beers at any cost—whether it be through trades or exorbitant purchases—I’m shifting my focus to the joys of everyday brews. There’s a world of incredible local beers that deserve my attention, and I’m excited to explore what’s right in my own backyard.
Celebrating Everyday Brews
I’ve realized that enjoying beer shouldn’t be a high-stakes endeavor. Rather than hoarding expensive bottles labeled as “ageable” for that elusive perfect occasion, I plan to savor these brews when the mood strikes. After all, what’s the point of having a collection if you’re afraid to indulge in it?
Prioritizing Local Craftsmanship
Our craft beer scene is flourishing, filled with remarkable breweries that offer a plethora of choices. I aim to make the most of this by prioritizing local brews. This not only supports my community but also opens up a range of tastes and styles that I can enjoy without the stress of scarcity.
Embracing Relaxation and Homebrewing
Lastly, I’m committed to embracing a more relaxed attitude towards beer drinking. Instead of worrying about potential missteps, I plan to enjoy the experience fully. Whether that means cracking open a regular beer at a casual gathering or experimenting with my own homebrew, I want the experience to be pleasant and stress-free.
As I embark on this beer journey, I invite you to consider how you approach your own craft beer experiences. Let’s raise our glasses to a year of mindful enjoyment and appreciation for the amazing brews out there! Cheers!
