Exciting News: I’ve Launched a New Winery in Portugal!
Greetings, wine enthusiasts!
After years of contributing insights and engaging with this community, I’m thrilled to share a significant milestone in my journey as a winemaker. Two years ago, I made the leap from France to Portugal, settling in the picturesque Dão region. This stunning landscape has not only inspired my craft but also revitalized my passion for winemaking.
In 2020, I embarked on this adventure by producing a small batch of wine; however, due to regulatory constraints, I couldn’t bring it to market. Fast forward to 2021, and I am excited to announce the successful launch of two distinct cuvées! Over the past month, I’ve had the pleasure of presenting these wines both in Portugal and France, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
With training rooted in Burgundy and Beaujolais, my winemaking philosophy emphasizes a balanced approach, steering clear of overly bold aromatic profiles—though I respect varying preferences. My focus is on low-intervention techniques, primarily utilizing sulfur, while allowing the grapes to express their true character.
If you find yourself exploring the beauty of Portugal, I would love to invite you to visit my winery. Feel free to reach out, and let’s share a moment over some fine wine!
Our brand, “Vizinho Vinhateiro,” translates to “vintner neighbor,” reflecting my commitment to community and connection. For a deeper dive into our winemaking journey, follow us on Instagram (@vizinhovinhateiro).
Thank you for your support. I look forward to welcoming you on this incredible adventure!
Cheers!
